Cluster 22 partners four times per year with St. Alban’s Church and host church, Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, to welcome up to four families experiencing temporary homelessness. In preparation for these busy host weeks please consider signing up to help with the following volunteer opportunities: converting space to guest rooms; providing a dish to complete a delicious meal; sharing a meal; and spending time in the evening with our families
Those directly interacting with the children will need to have “Protecting God’s Children” training (Catholic Diocese requirements) and Family Promise training. Training is required for those sharing a meal and hosting the guests for the evening (typically from 5-8 pm); and night hosts (8 pm-7am) who sleep at CE United Methodist Church. Please feel free to contact Erin Hartigan at
erin.h.hartigan@gmail.com or Kathy Johnson at
johnson5K@aol.com with questions or comments.
For those who are interested in volunteering, please send us your e-mail address and three weeks before the host week a sign-up link will be sent to you. Simply click on the link and choose a spot that suits your talents and schedule. More details about the volunteer duties related to each spot can be found on the Sign Up link. You do not need training if you are dropping off food for meals; setting up (Sunday starting the host week) or breaking down (Sunday ending the host week); transporting beds, and/or doing laundry (Sunday ending the host week).
The kindness, generosity, and flexibility of our volunteers help to make our community truly special and the GPFP families are so appreciative. We welcome new volunteers and thank you for considering to share your gifts. Our next host week is the week of October 13
